About Me

I'm an ok gal and enjoy being nice and helpful. Recently I discovered that I really like celery covered in peanut butter... Who knew? I still don't like it as much as pizza though.

This summer, I'll spend a month in London studying, before heading out on my own. Planned visits include: Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam, Berlin, Athens, and Madrid. Let's hook up when I come through your town! Be forewarned, my goal is to go mini golfing in every city I visit...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am taking my first big adventure and trying to have as many great experiences as possible. I could do some touristy stuff, sure, but I'd much rather learn about new culture through direct and personal interactions. I want to be a learner, not just an observer. I want to see your city through your eyes!

Interests

Cycling, advocacy, music and arts, people watching, being silly. I'm pretty passionate about women's issues and very liberal in my beliefs.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music, hearing new things and especially my friends' music because they are all so wonderful! It is so hard to pinpoint, but maybe some bands I like are: belle & sebastian, stereo total, modest mouse, oingo boingo, neutral milk hotel, the buzzcocks and the pixies.

Big horror film fan, especially Spanish horror films that I can find here, [REC], El Orfanato, Dagon... I like a lot of science fiction and fantasy too. Wes Anderson and Quinten Tarantino are always fun - Give me movies that pull me from reality instead of drag me down into it. I love, love, love the television cartoon Futurama.

For books, I enjoy haruki murakami stories, the preacher graphic novels, the OZ books (all 14), on the road, and confederacy of dunces. Probably I liked the catcher in the rye when I was a moody teenager, and I'm fairly certain I've thrown the book, naked lunch, out my car window on several occasions and yet I still have a halfway read copy on my bookshelf. I have a lot of the same type of preferences as I do for movies. I like to read for entertainment because life is so real.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Returning to education later in life and choosing to take this amazing trip to places I've never been before is pulling me out of my comfort zone. I'm ready and excited to travel and make new friends!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could probably teach you how to build a bike if all the pieces were in front of me, but besides that, every conversation teaches us about each other. I'm willing to learn whatever you have to offer so let us share some beer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good times, fun conversations, laughs. Yeah, I got jokes.
