About Me

I'm a fun loving girl who loves an adventure. I like to travel whenever I can and I hope to backpack travel in Europe after I graduate. I love to scuba dive, create nail arts, baking, watching movies (believe me, I'm a HUGE fan of movies) and of course, I have a passion for food.

I'm currently studying Mass Communication while teaching Math and English part time on the side to fund my travels to Europe. I like meeting new people and exchanging new knowledge on cultures as well as recipes. If I happen to stay with a stranger in a different country, you can be sure I'll do my best to make you the best Malaysian dishes using local ingredients. I may not be the best chef around, but I always believe the best way to spread the love is through the tummy. :)

I used to be an exchange student in Italy and I've lived with a wonderful family in Naples for 4 months. Italian was easy to pick up, but I'm still learning everyday through communication with my Italian friends. China was also an adventure for me as I stayed there for a month to improve my Chinese speaking skills.

So yeah, I love meeting new people so couch surfing will definitely be a big adventure for me and I hope to meet other couch surfers real soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a student who have yet to earn a decent income for survival, my budget is tight. At the same time, I want to travel in a way where I can meet the locals and get to know their culture at a personal level. Couch surfing sounds like the perfect platform for doing so.

If I had a place of my own with an extra guest room or a couch, I would definitely welcome a traveler from a distant land to visit my humble home. I will feed you excessively, so be cautious. ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty much in love with Bruno Mars and his music. I'm a fan of all of his songs! Jason Mraz comes in second as his music always calms me down. Great guy, great music.

I love movies in general. Especially those movies that makes me laugh as well as thriller movies. The Rush Hour series is one of my favorite to this day.

Books? Sophie Kinsella is my all time fav author. Her books makes me laugh out loud! I also like those books which is full of suspense and thrills like the Hunger Games as well as books that makes me cry. Jane Eyre was really a tear jerker for me when I first read it. I swear, I cannot read that book in public without crying my eyes out when I first started reading it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting my article published in Sports Diving international magazine at 15. It felt pretty amazing to see my name in black and white on a glossy magazine page.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Recipes. I especially love desserts all over the world. When I was in Italy, I couldn't stop raving about the Tiramisu as I was so in love with it. My host mum taught me how to make it and I made it for my family in Malaysia. They absolutely loved it. In exchange, I taught them how to make chicken curry. They found it a little spicy, but the entire pot of curry was gone by the end of the afternoon.

I also like to improve my Italian speaking skills so that I can talk to my host family fluently without using Google Translate as well as to be able to speak Mandarin (oh that would be a dream come true. My Mandarin sucks for a Chinese. Dishonor on me! Dishonor on my family! Dishonor on my cow!).
