ABOUT ME

At last I write something here :p (After a year or something like that :s.. shame on me)

I'm Anne. I'm a guy (some strange thing with this name in the Netherlands), 23. I study biology (ecology/theoretical biology), 4th year, nearly finished my bachelor. I live in the centre of Wageningen. Nice place to live, 7 involved housemates (friends) lots of fun and good (also serious) talks.
I think I'm an easy going person, adventurous, chaotic, good listening.. and sometimes a bit shy.
I like walking, cycling, traveling, camping, walking with bare feet in warm sand at the beach, sailing, theatre, just being out-side, the smell of recently mowed grass, music! (al sorts of, as long as it's not noise ;)), late warm (of eigenlijk zwoele) summer evenings, campfires with a glass of red wine, concerts, sometimes dancing (preferably drum 'n' bass), cosy bars, thinking and talking about all the sense and nonsense of and in this world... well.. that sort of things (random order).

What else to tell.. maybe just some life-story tells a lot: I'm rised in Rotterdam (big city). Primary school at 'vrije school' secondary school just at a normal gymnasium. Attended the scouts, at sundays to church (catholic), in vacations a lot of camping, hiking, cycling and sailing with my parents. Later also lots of sailing in all of my spare time (work at sailing centre). After secondary, I've worked for a year, many hours a week, but I really liked that. In Wageningen I have been member of Navigators, a small christian student society with lots of nice people. I was really involved for two years, did a lot of comities (some weekends, introduction of freshers, sailing weeks), and was captain (or how to call it in english - voorzitter) of a part of the society (dispuut). In my fist year I also was involved in a youth society for some time. Together with some friends we started a band-evening, every 2 months. In my 3th year of studies, I went for some time to Reading, England (erasmus student). Was really a great time! Met lots of good people. Didn't learn that much in university, but learned lots personally. When I came back I had a sort of after-erasmus-dip. The whole atmosphere with all these international students is really different from the 'normal' life where everyone is always so 'busy'. Since I'm back form England I'm not that busy myself anymore, and I like it, although sometimes it makes me to lazy. In spring of 2008 I hitch-hiked to Burgos, and from there walked the way to Santiago (3 weeks walking), something I can recommend everyone. During the day lots of time for yourself, sometimes walk together, sometimes alone. And in the evenings meet really very different people, eat and drink together and have nice talks, sometimes at a campfire. Last summer I visited some friends in Germany (from the erasmus) and than went on to Salzburg, stayed some days down there (beautiful city). And went to Romania where I also visited some friends (who I met the year before in Taize - a christian monastery in France with lots of youths, in summer about 4000 people). I was little bit shocked by the poverty of the country but the people are unbelievably nice. The way back I went by train till Boedapest because hitch-hiking is quite slow in Romania and the roads didn't seem safe at all on my way there (lots of serious accidents - and the train was quite cheap anyway).

Well.. just some main events of my life. Especially from the last time. I think, I leave it like this for now.. although there's much more to say ;). Hope you enjoyed reading, and if you want to come over, you're really welcome!
