About Me

Well time for an update of the profile !
I'll do my best not to be too boring....

About my background, well...
I studied Cinema and Scriptwriting, precisely because I believe that everyone has a story to share, and that the more we share it, the more we realize we all go through the same doubts, and feelings in our life. Even though they occur on various shapes, we can learn so much from others' experiences.
I want to write about what's amazing and beautiful in everyone.

After these studies, I took off to South America for four months. I had always been mysteriously appealed by the cultures there, and it was indeed an incredible experience to live : I journeyed hitchhiking through the continent with my boyfriend, and we stayed either with CS hosts, camping, or occasional hotels when terribly too tired.
No surprise, what we remember the most from the whole trip are the wonderful people we met there, and all the new ways of looking at life they shared. We definitely learnt a lot, about ourselves mostly, by confronting our beliefs to other realities.

After 2 years of other shorter trips (Morocco, Ireland, Malta, England, Denmark, Sweden), we are getting back on the road for one month and a half in the USA / Canada this summer !

And well, lately I graduated from a Business School in Paris (International Business Negotiations ; quite pompous if you ask me though...), and I intend to work in Corporate Social Responsibility before really getting back to scripts and movies (we never have too much experiences... And my travels made me feel an urge to work on environmental and ethical matters!)

That's all I can say for now, basically I see myself as a "sponge" (not that flattering I know), I love to listen to people's experiences, usually they impregnate in my brain, and come out as all new ideas, and perspectives over life :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As most of you do, I'm here on CS because I've always loved meeting new people. And I'm proud of this evergrowing community based on a simple value, which is sharing !

I believe we have everything to gain in opening ourselves up to others, and so far CS has never proved me wrong.

Interests

I'm interested in approximately everything I don't know yet ! People, stories, unknown places...Surprises ! I can be mesmerized by the simple light color of a cloud in the sky, or the unexpected smile of a complete stranger, it's easy to cheer me up!

What I like most at the moment is trying to understand, through the listening of many people's stories, the mechanisms of our emotions. (purely subjective work, nothing academic !)

And above all, I write, travel, travel, and write about the journey.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC... Let's say I do have a weak spot for all of my friends who play music. I am lucky to have met extraordinary musicians, from pianists, saxophonists to "ukuleletists", and I am very moved when they play in front of me.
Otherwise, on a more traditional perspective, I enjoy listening to Millesime, Alt-J, The flashbulb, Paul Kalkbrenner, Avishai Cohen but also Charles Aznavour, Boulevard des airs, Tri Yann, Schubert, and lately Regina Spektor and Laura Marling...

BOOK wise, I'd go for : "Novecento" et "Océan Mer" (A.Barricco), "Les liaisons Dangereuses" (Laclos), et "The Peaceful Warrior" (D.Millman).

MOVIES : There is one very special to me... "Mr. Nobody" (Jaco van Dormael). I love it when the movie asks questions rather than answering some.

Then, "Hiroshima mon Amour", "Still Life", "Victoria", "La communauté"...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What was most amazing about the things I went through, were all the people I met on the way, their kindness and generosity despite the overall atmosphere of mistrust going round sometimes.

I think I did something like 20 000km hitchhiking on my own, another 10 000 with friends, and it was alwyas enlightening in some ways !

Then I also rewrote the diary of a person who lived four generations before me.
Extraordinary...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Besides, being bilingual english/french, I can teach a bit of French, or even the basis of ScriptWriting if anyone is interested !
