I'm about to finish my studies at Saarland University and am currently preparing for a PhD. I love to travel, to learn languages and to learn about cultures. This is why I work for the International Office of Saarland University since 2005. I like to help new arrivals and to introduce them to their new University and their new hometown, because I just know how useful it can be to have someone to ask. I know a lot of sights around here and I gladly show you around if I have time. Since am used to work with international groups and german learners, you wont have a problem to communicate with me, no matter how poor your german or english is ;)
About my own language skills, I can say, that my spanish course is some days ago...so my spanish isn't the best but it's enough. My french is neither good nor bad. I grew up at the border to France, but my speaking skills are low. But I can understand almost everything, if you just speak slow enough^^. I learned some basics of many languages from my students but beside that, I made the experience that speaking isn't important at all to create a nice and friendly atmosphere between strangers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped hundreds of students to have a good start and a good time here in Saarbrücken, even though the payment was bad and the overtime unpaid . I patiently explained again and again how to get hot water in the dorms of Saarland University and how to manage german bureaucracy.^^

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live with 2 girls and my boyfriend in a shared apartment next to the city hall. So if you stay with us, you will stay right in the centre of Saarbrücken. We live in the 5th floor and we have no elevator... sorry. But once you reach our flat, you will be paid off for climbing the stairs with our nice rooftop terrace. Especially in summer, thats an awesome place, with sun all day (if shining) and a lot's of plants, most of them eatable. We have an almost private room for one or two guests. Only one of my flatmates has to pass through that room to reach her own one. We can share kitchen, bathroom, our terrace and time :)
If you want, we can give you towels and bedclothes of course.
