About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see the world! And I want to share this experience with my family and my friends back home: pictures, texts, blog, good old letters... If I leave the dream, then I'll share it!

ABOUT ME

How would my friends describe me? I think that amid all the good things - clever, tenacious, curious...- a few words like "stubborn", "distracted" or "clumsy" would appear. Meh, who's perfect?

I have been travelling non-stop for almost 5 years now, and with my boyfriend for the last 4 years. I'm still not tired of it!
When I stop travelling I would love to live in the south of Chile, where the people are kind and the landscapes amazing.

PHILOSOPHY

You'll never succeed if you don't at least try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first CS experience was in Turkey in 2012, and it was awesome! Since then I CSed in other places and I love it... When I stop traveling I can't wait to host people :-)

Interests

I love reading, it was my first way of travelling and dreaming.

I also really like photography, especially wildlife photography. I’m not very talented but I like discovering good photographers and good pictures!

I write a travel blog, I started it in New Zealand and I had a lot of fun talking about my travels and taking pictures for it. I also discovered the pleasure of sharing my discoveries with my friends and family back home. Now my boyfriend and I have another blog: CaminoNomada.com

Music, Movies, and Books

Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish. The Fountain, Master and Commander, Disney's Robin Hood. The 3 first Indiana Jones. Planet of the Apes (1968).
One of my favorite writers is Maupassant. I like Poe, Stephen King's Mysery, Jules Verne, I tend to read anything I find really.
As for music, I'll go with the classic "a bit of everything". And a special love of Leonard Cohen (best concert ever, even if he was like 74 years old).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Tonga, my friend and I met a woman during a 20-hour ferry trip. She invited us to come and stay with her family in Pangaimotu village. We were very lucky to share a week in a Tongan family's life. I have an especially fond memory of the Sunday service, everyone all dressed up and singing beautifully in the tiny church. The Tongans were very friendly and generous with us; I was humbled and filled with wonder by their kindness.

In Chile, I had the chance to see the phenomenon of "desierto florido" (flowering desert). I had known the exact same places as incredibly dry and barren and then bursting with life. It was like there were carpets of flowers and clouds of butterflies! An stunning contrast, it was a beautiful reminder of how resilient and adaptable wildlife is.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I've taught French and English.
Also, I'll be happy to help someone set up their website or blog with Wordpress.
I'd love to learn more about travel writing and photography.
