ABOUT ME

Hi there! My name is Anne and I am almost 22 years old. I live in a town near Amsterdam, the awesome capitol of this little coutry called The Netherlands. You might have heard from it ;)Right now I live with my parents, brothers and sister which makes it pretty much impossible to host, but once I live on my own, I definitely want to make sure people visiting the country have a great time. It's such a great way to meet new people.I study Media & Culture at the University of Amsterdam, third year now, I work at a news and bookstore at Schiphol Airport, (so who knows you may have spotted me there!) and I love to sing. Music is the best thing ever invented.I also love to travel. I want to see as many parts of the world as possible. I get nervous thinking about how much I want to see and the amount of time I have. There's always too little time!Two years ago me and my friend travelled through Europe by train for three weeks. We went to 8 cities and it was such an awesome experience. I like Europe, but I have seen pretty much everything here (well, of course not everything, but a great deal at least) so now I'm ready to conquer the rest of the world! In the summer me and my friend want to go to Canada and the United States. I can't wait to go, and who knows, meet some of you! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I wouldn't say I have a real philosophy, but I know from my own experience life is way too short sometimes, so the time I'm here I want to make sure I have no regrets leaving when I'm 104 years old.

Like I said in my personal desciption, unfortunately I can't host people. But, if you're in Amsterdam for example, I'm definitely available to give you a tour if you'd like!And next summer I'm going to Canada and the United States and I would love to sleep at someone's couch for the ultimate local experience ;)

In my free time I sing (I actually do that all the time, also when I'm not free), I like to go to the movies, hang out with my friends or maybe visit a match of my favorite football club Ajax :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Our trip through Europe in the summer of 2010 was a great experience. We saw a lot of Europe, met some great people (I just love when you're on a train for example and you find out you have a click with the person sitting next or in front of you and the train suddenly gets way more fun while you didn't expected it) and learned a lot!

I want to learn about the world. There are so many different cultrures, each one with their own beautiful aspects. By discovering different cultures, you can grow as a person and these cultures can also learn from each other. It just makes the world a better place.
