Overview
About Me
Teaching English in Provence; studied in Paris.
In between, worked in Washington, D.C., but quickly learned a 9-to-5 is not for me.
Trying to see as much of Europe and France as I can now that I'm back!
At home in Aix, I often find myself wandering through markets, writing in cafés and taking pictures for my blog (hardlysnarky.com).
Hope to return to Paris next year for grad school in communications...and maybe by then I will have an apartment big enough to host ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never liked to travel as a tourist--I would much rather see the cities as locals do. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to meet natives, learn more of the language and see what the places I visit are really like beyond Lonely Planet. I love talking to people and learning their stories...I believe you can learn so much about life just by interacting with others and learning about different experiences.
Interests
I love love love to cook and believe you can never have too much butter (Julia Child's influence). I have a close relationship with food, chocolate and wine. In D.C. I worked at a spin/barre studio, so sometimes I still find myself on my yoga mat in my very tiny apartment trying to replicate the moves. I love to walk around and get lost--sometimes on purpose, sometimes not--to discover new places and people.
I also really like photo booth props and watercoloring.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read and write nonfiction and have a soft spot for romantic comedies, but often find myself enthralled in the classics (Nouvelle Vague, Fellini, etc). I never turn down a good mystery or witty banter. I'll listen to most anything...except maybe country and heavy metal (I'll share my Spotify playlists if you want).
Teach, Learn, Share
Working on perfecting my French, but would love to learn other languages and phrases.
Aaaand I make a mean cocktail. Happy to share that ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
One of my love languages is gifts (and I was raised in a Southern house), so expect a trinket à la Provence when I come to stay, in addition to funny stories and conversation.
Countries I’ve Visited
