About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a therapist/teacher as well as an entrepreneur and volunteer. I like to be involved in my community and help to make it a better place for all. My husband and I have recently moved to a small piece of land where we are growing microgreens and edible flowers for the restaurant trade. We have volunteers staying with us on the Workaway and Helpx programmes as the place was a junk yard and needs a lot of work to clear the land and turn it into a farm. When we don't have volunteers using the beds we are happy to make them available to couch surfers. As we give preference to volunteers, we are more of a "last minute" accommodation option. We can't take bookings ahead of time. The accommodation is mixed dorm style, very basic and very rustic (think indoor camping) or in a tent with electricity, but if you need a place to crash and we have a bed available you are welcome to couchsurf for a night. If you would like to stay for more than one night you would have to pitch in and help on the farm like our volunteers as it wouldn't be fair to them if someone was lounging around doing nothing while they have to work for their accommodation and meals.

We work long hours, 7 days a week, so unfortunately won't have time to take you around or socialize much.. We are about 10 minutes walk from a bus stop. We are on the main bus route between the airport and the harbour so you can get yourself down to the tourist area easily. Many like to walk there.
