About Me
ABOUT ME
I like to travel, meet new people, learn languages and discover new cultures.
I lived in Belgium until I was 18 and then moved to Italy, where I have been living and studying for about 6 years. I studied the Arabic and Russian language, so I really would love to see more of the these parts of the world: I would like to take the Trans-Siberian railway and see more of Russia, and I would like to visit more countries in the Arab world and improve my Arabic language skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I’m new on Couchsurfing and I regret that I didn’t register earlier. Since I like to travel and have traveled a lot in the last years and not really planning to settle down, I think I will be participating a lot in CS.
I don’t know yet what next years will bring for me and where I will be staying, but I would be happy to invite couchsurfers over and to know more people, whenever I have a couch available.

Music, Movies, and Books
Gogol, Dostoevsky, Khaled Hosseini, Alaa Al Aswany – “The Yacoubian Building”, “Friendly Fire”, Dave Eggers – “What is the What”
I like a lot of different kinds of music, but most of all I like Blues, Gospel, Jazz and also Hiphop.
I like most of the movies Quentin Tarantino made or produced. I also like to watch drama or movies based on historic events, like “The Pianist”, “The 9th Company”, “Amistad”, “Hotel Ruanda”, “Mississippi Masala”.
But I also like movies from other countries, which may be a little bit more slowly but show how the everyday life of people those countries is or used to be, like for example “Bashu, the little stranger”, “Kandahar”, “Tulpan”.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing Mount Sinai in Egypt. I was living in Cairo for some months taking an Arabic course and me and my roommates were on a holiday in the Sinai, to take a break from the crowdedness of Cairo. The 4 of us, accompanied by our Bedouin guide, started climbing the mountain at 3 o’ clock at night, all alone in the silent desert. We reached the top at sunrise and it was such an amazing sight. A truly wonderful experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied Arabic and Russian at university and I took some intensive language courses in both languages, so I could always teach you some basics, like the alphabet and basic conversation.
Of course I would like to improve the languages I have a knowledge of, so I would love having conversations with native speakers.
