About Me
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Utrecht. As I grew up here I've lived in different parts of the city, mostly in communes. Yeah, my parent are kinda hippies.
It's such an amazing city that I never felt the urge to leave, until 2010 when I went to Philadelphia to study for 6 months. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and really made me want to travel and see even more.
Right now I'm based in Utrecht again, I recently graduated from Utrecht University, where I studied law with a focus on human rights, migration law and copyright. I play in several bands, ranging from psychedelic rock to folk to garage to punk to experimental pop. I'm now busy planning my album recording for my debut solo-album, which I will be recording in May in New York! Also, I'm busy setting up WWOOF the Netherlands, an organisation that facilitates cultural exchanges on biological farms.
So I have quite a busy life. But I also think it's super important to clear enough time for fun stuff, hanging out with friends, cooking amazing foods, meeting different people. Which is why I'm really psyched about this couch-surfing jawn!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have a very broad taste! I really enjoy experimental rock and pop music, but also surfy stuff, sixties, harder and darker music, new wave, punk, garage and quiet folk. Fav bands include Deerhunter, Atlas Sound, Melody's Echo Chamber, Grizzly Bear, Mac Demarco, Stereolab, Broadcast, Real Estate, the Gun Club, Ariel Pink, Lightning Dust, Sharon van Etten, Damien Jurado, and so much more...
Movies: I have a weird fascination with all Woody Allen movies. But I see a lot of different things, mostly arthouse stuff, I'm not very knowledgeable about it though unfortunately.
Some of my favorite books: Siddharta by Herman Hesse, Family Happiness by Leo Tolstoy, Walden by Henry David Thoreau, Synchronicity by Jung. I like books that combine theories about life and the universe with storytelling.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Philadelphia for 6 months, toured in Switzerland, played a bunch of really cool shows, spoken to a lot of very interesting people, ate a lot of amazing foods.
