About Me

Hoi! I've just returned from an awesome 7 month trip trough New Zealand and Australia. Almost two years ago I finished my masters in Persuasive Communication at the University of Amsterdam. While I was writing my thesis I felt a plan bubbling up: I wanted to see something new before I'd start working and I wanted to go at it by myself! And that's what I did. It could not have been any better, I met so many nice people and saw the most amazing things. I really feel I got to know both countries and I'm definitely coming back someday.

I grew up in a home with 2 younger brothers and 1 older sister, so I'm used to having a busy house. Sometimes it was chaotic, but never a dull moment to be found! Loved it :) I am a positive, honest, organized and tidy person.

My old roommate grew up in NZ, and her stories and photos were the best! So, I wanted to see it for myself :) To save up money, but not commit to a big advertising agency just yet (or to a single brand, or company, or small start up, or government agency...), I started my own business in communication. In the last year and a half, I worked as a copy writer, SEO specialist, researcher, administrative support, project manager, social media manager and content manager for all kinds of businesses. I've worked in and for a business center and that helped me build a network of entrepeneurs in lots of different branches. I've worked with photographers, taxes and insurance specialists, port developers, industrial designers, communication specialists (of course) and many others. I enjoyed every bit of it and learned so much!

During my travels I've had a couple great Couchsurfing experiences and now that I'm home again I'd like to give something back. I met so many people, learned so much and like to think that I picked up a bit of the Kiwi and Aussie Spirit that I enjoyed so much over the last 7 months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was hitchhiking back to my hostel in Raglan when I met Ross. He told me about couch surfing and the good times he and his guests have had all over the world. Sounded perfect! So here I am :)
