About Me

CURRENT MISSION STATEMENTS

If you are a female solo traveller and need a place to stay in Bangkok for company or security please feel free to reach out. I understand Bangkok is already cheap for accommodation but would be happy to host to meet fellow travellers <3

I can sometimes be fragile and have a deep loneliness and sense of melancholy that's hard to shake off.

Sometimes I can be narrow-minded, stuck in my own ways, and not at all eager to meet strangers or go to social events. Traveling more casually and less for a purpose seems to be a possible cure to my despondency.

Sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I’m not living. ― Jonathan Safran Foer

"Isn't it strange that we talk least about the things we think about most?" —Charles Lindbergh

"When the time comes for you to make a change (to grow), the universe will make you so uncomfortable, so unhappy, you will eventually have no choice." —Iyanla Vanzant

"You deserve the love you keep trying to give everyone else." —healing suggestion

“Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.” -Henry Miller

ABOUT ME

I'm studied neuroscience as a sort of premed. Botany because I love plants and nature and economics because its a practical science, which helps me understand the way in which the world works through the movement of resources. As much as it sounds like I did things I was interested in, university was probably one of the most painful times of my life. Doing 3 degrees in five years nearly killed me T_T but I was unable to quit because I'd already started. It was important to me because I wanted to minimize my prejudices and biases which my mind and all human minds seem to automatically form despite our best efforts. I don't have the most jubilant personality but want to look at life more exuberantly and be more excited about my day. Sometimes, seeing past the curtain of how we work psychologically and physically, it can be hard to not be so cynical. Seeing the world from the sincere perspectives of others is what I feel helps to ground me through my journey in this sometimes overwhelming life. I'm not as interested in the most touristy destinations for the sake of ticking off boxes. I would really like to get into the mundane everyday detail of how people live/lived daily, to get an idea of the wider community and the past. Regardless of whatever I have just said, feel free to message me anyway and I'll do my best to try and help in anyway that I can.

PHILOSOPHY

It doesn't matter your religion or race, we are all the same. Regardless of all the confusion over small things, at the base of it all, we are more the same than we are different. Nature and nurture is all of our identities. Very little about each of us is actually unique, which is why traveling, reading, and learning by feeling is as important as intellectual knowledge. I guess its being able to lay in bed, knowing all of humanity is with you in this experience and I'm doing the best I can. So that in my final days I can feel like I didn't waste this one way ticket of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been laying dormant before due to having to be in shared housing units in studios but I now have my own apartment which allows me to have the privacy and ability to host guests which I have always wanted to do. My apartment complex is one of Dunedins Heritage homes with very interesting workmanship in the wood and walls.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just been hosting and never really traveled using Couchsurfing yet but maybe doing so very soon which is so exciting XD. CS is an amazing community, I hosted about 12 times and meeting so many curious, amazingly brave, and adventurous people has been an inspiration. At the end of this year, I will be doing a trip around Europe and though I may not use Couchsurfing for it, I hope it will allow me to meet people from different places and understand and learn from them.

Interests

I love painting, drawing, and art because it helps reflect on things that otherwise may not be seen.

Dancing is awesome but I'm terrible so prefer to watch others, and the same with singing. I love music! Sports is awesome, swimming, soccer, rock-climbing and I don't really know what else because did a little of many things (kayak surfing anyone? lol). Other interests include cooking, reading, poetry and crime investigation channel, and of course how the mind works.

This is something I wrote which kinda describes it somewhat:

" I saw it in the reflection of his eyes, I saw the same in hers and I saw it in every one of theirs; the same truth which I find inescapable in mine. Every single one. The pulsing need of our blood growing with the shine of love, beating in waves with the strength of unity and loving with the power of infinity. There are no bounds to this conscious being if open, nor any finity to its reach and vision.
Just one soul seeking in a world of souls, to return to a place which within, it can once and for always find its satiated peace. Be whole again, to be part of it all again. "

Here is my website if you would like to see some of my artwork which i do as a hobby and have shamefully not done in a long time.

Music movies and books I'm not particular, am quite random with them actually but I love ones with deeper meanings that leave you thinking and rethinking about the world and your own thoughts. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things I've done or seen huh?
I didn't breathe for a minute thirty cos I swore I'd not breathe till a minute was over and my sister had the stopwatch and was timing me and lied about how much time had passed. I could feel my face heating up and almost passed out.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not really sure what I can teach so it would depend on the person etc. All I know is as I grow up, through my teenage angst and arrogance, the older I get, the more humbled I become and bewildered about this world. Anything really seems to be possible in this time that we are living in. Scary and exciting but mostly scary.
