About Me
I'm 25 years old, Danish (not always too proud of that, though), and mostly cheerful and calm.
I currently live in Melbourne with my boyfriend, Benjamin, doing exchange at Unimelb.
Usually – i.e. when I'm not on exhance – I live in Copenhagen (the capital of Denmark) but I also spend quite a lot of time in Aarhus where I used to live and where my family lives. Being my niece's and nephew's favorite aunt is quite a big deal to me – and luckily it's not very difficult as I'm their only one.
I study musicology (which in Denmark is a mix of theory and practice, i.e. we play, sing, arrange and conduct as much as we read, analyze and write papers) and psychology. Though, I'm neither gonna be a Flutist nor a psychologist as I deliberately chose to do both instead of focusing on one.
When I'm not busy studying, I'm busy doing someting else.
I love cooking, and I have too many cookbooks - which I nearly never use, as I'm more into experimenting. But I enjoy looking at them!
Generally, I spent much time being occupied with food. If I'm not cooking or eating, I might be walking around the streets of Melbourne, looking in vain for proper Danish rye bread in every bakery.. Buying IKEA's shake and bake rye bread has been the solution till now.
Apart from the rye bread, I don't really miss Danish food, though, as it is mainly pork cooked in different ways, served with uninteresting accompaniment. Preferably I'd eat Middle Eastern and Asian food 6 days a week, I reckon.
Besides this whole food thing, I'm really into being outdoor. As a Dane, I ride my bike to uni every day (no matter if it's pouring down or snowing) and I kind of enjoy that even though it's in traffic. Though, I absolutely prefer riding my bike to the sea or in the country side. Apart from biking, I enjoy hiking and cross country skiing. That feeling of being in the middle of nowhere is for some reason really good! My boyfriend and I just did a 7 days hike (The Overland Track) at Tasmania. It was exhausting but spending a week hiking was an amazing break from uni.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted a few times when I had a couch, couchsurfed during a holiday in Berlin, and attended some couchsurfing events and met up with some couch surfers while living in London.
I think it's an amazing way of visiting new cities as you get to talk to locals, and therefore it'll be easier to avoid the most touristed places.
