Overview
About Me
I'm open - minded and interested in other cultures and lifestyles... that's why I love to travel around the world. I took a gap year to work & travel in Australia, New Zealand and India for about 10 months in 2013/2014. Afterwards I completed my bachelor degree during which I spent one semester in Hangzhou, China (2016). Currently I'm working on my masters degree and I am lucky enough to spend another semester abroad - this time in Jacksonville in the United States (2019).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For me couchsurfing isn't just about a couch to crash on so you don't have to pay for a hostel. It's about getting to know new friends, cultures and ways of living. I learned that every place, no matter how tiny and "boring" it might be, can be amazing if you are there with the right people - and in my experience, people from couchsurfing are the right people! :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Especially in Australia I did a lot of couchsurfing and I didn't have a single bad experience. Again and again people suprised me with how open-minded and unselfish one can be.
Interests
In my free time, I like to meet friends and go out with them... I take every opportunity to get to know new people, especially if they are from different cultures.
When I am on my own, I enjoy reading as well as listening to music. For sports I love to do stuff that is a bit more extreme like canyoning, caving, skydiving, paragliding, wakeboarding, diving,... But unfortunately I mostly just tried these things once or twice because I don't really find opportunities (and money) to do it more often.
