About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I took a break from hosting CouchSurfers for a while - reason for the low reply rate. I'm working, planning my next trip, and trying to "live spherically--in many directions. To accept yourself for what you are without inhibitions, to be open."
ABOUT ME
I took a break from hosting CouchSurfers for a while - reason for the low reply rate and long time to reply - but would love to start hosting and meeting new folks again!!

Here's a story about how I got where I am now: well over a year ago, I sat down and wrote my "bucket list". It has around 50 items on it, from the very small to the very large. One of those items was "learn to bake bread." I thought to myself, "I could do that right now!" but then I kept making excuses ("I don't have the time", "I don't have a big enough kitchen,"). Finally, I had to face the truth - there are so many things I want to do, but I was afraid to do any of them for fear they wouldn't be as good as I hoped!
Flash forward to the present day: I left a job I didn't much like in order to travel the world. After a nine month round the world trip, I'm working in Los Angeles, missing traveling a lot and dreaming about my next trip. I love meeting travelers and could listen to travel stories all day long!
Oh, and I eventually learned to bake bread. :)
One of the items on my bucket list is to visit all 50 US States. I think I'm doing pretty well:

Music, Movies, and Books
I really love to read! Books I will treasure forever include: The Alchemist, Gone With the Wind, Ender's Game, Rebecca, a variety of poetry (favorites: Hafiz, e e cummings, Pablo Neruda), Eat Pray Love, all the Nancy Drew books, Half the Sky, anything by Madeleine L'Engle, Harry Potter, Omnivore's Dilemma... and more I can't think of!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent a good portion of my life riding/working with horses. When I stop and think about this - that these beautiful animals let us into their lives - I can't help but be amazed!
For a less cheesy answer... some of my most spectacular memories include:
- Watching for falling stars on a clear night the Rocky Mountains in Montana - so many stars you can't even believe it!
- Petting a full grown tiger while in Thailand.
- Swimming in the Nile - chilly, but no crocs!
- Riding a camel through the Sahara at night - otherworldly beauty
- Swimming in waterfalls in Laos
- Climbing Montana Machu Picchu and looking down 2000 feet onto the Machu Picchu ruins
Help me add to this list!! :)
