About Me
Hi there! I'm Annie from China, lived in Colorado, US for a year, studied in Bremen Germany for 3 years and now working in Dubai, UAE.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My family actually have hosted over 20 CS guests in 2010 because my mom has her own CS account(back in the days they didn't have such fancy website yet, I was really surprised to see this new website :p ). We were no longer able to host anymore because we renovated our apartment so there's no space, unfortunately. But now I have the chance to go out to see the world on my own. :)
I love traveling & meeting people from other cultures, it's always an exciting adventure for me!
Interests
Reading, music, debate, swimming, badminton, cross country running, in general I like to do all kinds of sports even if I might not be the best at it :p
I play the ukulele, and a little guitar and piano as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love jazz and Beyoncé (who doesn't!), have recently got into tropical house, chilled R&B, and some funky/hiphop-y techno stuff. Crime, thriller and sci-fi are my favorite fiction genres. I've been reading lots of non-fic like Sapiens and the Feminine Mystique. My favorite fiction author is currently Marisha Pessl, I loved her Night Film and Special Topics in Calamity Physics.
I don't watch that much TV show, but the one show that I actually try to keep up with is Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Strongly recommend!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I created a language exchange project for students in my international university to teach languages to each other, since the school doesn't offer that many effective language courses. The project was called the Elephant Project, because students in my school come from over 100 countries, hence the abundance of languages that the students spoke was an amazing yet overlooked resource, just like the elephant in the room.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Chinese and English, and I would love to learn all the other languages. Same for cooking :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Traditional Chinese artifacts as gifts;
My intercultural experiences and my thoughts;
Free Chinese course;
Philosophical debates/discussions;
Traditional Chinese dishes such as dumplings :)
