Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people both here in Australis and when I am travelling. I want to travel to Portugal next year and would like to emerse myself in the local culture.

Interests

I am interested in meeting new people and learning about their culture and the history of their country. I like to go for interesting walks and explore nature. I enjoy the beach and lots of water activities. In particular I have a passion for sailing and would like to find a sailing companion or someone who is looking for crew to sail the Greek Isles. Well anywhere in the Mediterranean would be good!
I plan to go to Maderia Island of Portugal next year and I am looking to meet people with similar interests and who can speak some English, I will know some Portuguese by then. I want to spend time with locals and shop at the markets, learn to cook the local food, go out listen to good music and hopefully get to dance. I love dancing and just moving to good music as well as partnered dancing. Would like to attend some local dance classes and go to hear local bands play.

I am a youth worker and enjoy being able to share my experiences with other people in the caring professions.
