I'm from St. Louis, Missouri and am teaching English in Murcia, Spain for the year. I was been bitten by the travel bug when I was young and have tried to travel as much as possible ever since! I love meeting new people and exploring new cities.
I enjoy learning how to cook dishes from the places I visit when possible and get a better feel for the culture of the place I'm in. I love seeing all of the tourist sites of course, but I think it's more valuable to know the people.
I have been learning how to play the ukelele as well!
I like to stay fit. My recent passion is yoga, but I also enjoy backpacking and rock climbing occasionally.
I'm brand new to the couchsurfing community, but have heard wonderful stories from people I have met along the way who have recommended it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing to meet new people and learn about other cultures. What better way to learn about a new area and people than to stay with some of the natives? I would love to host as well, however right now my lease doesn't allow it :( Perhaps in the future when I get settled somewhere.

Spanish music from all over - Dominican, Argentine, Spanish, Costa Rican, etc. Always looking for more artists to listen to!

Very few movies that I haven't enjoyed. I'm not too picky when it comes to movies.
Books that make you think about the message and take something away from it. Applicable to life in some way, even as fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped rescue a hiker lost in the fog on top of a volcano in New Zealand without getting lost ourselves!

I love learning about new ideas and cultures of a place. Exchanging languages (words/phrases/thoughts) is one of my favorite things to do!
