About Me
JOB
I'm currently a Primary Teacher in Cumbria.
DIET
I'm a pescetarian and more than happy to cook for others. (If you wish to cook meat in my kitchen, that's fine too!)
HOSTING
Sadly, I'm now living with my parents, while I renovate an 'uninhabitable' house in the wilds of the Lake District. I'll let you know when it's done and I can host again!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and try new things!
Interests
Volunteer work, hiking, travelling, history, oil painting, cross stitch, live music/comedy, museums/galleries, dancing, reading, cooking, movies, board games, NaNoWriMo, trying new things and hanging out!
I studied Ancient History at university, but my Latin is rusty... I spent 2 years managing a bookshop (ask me about the evils of AMAZON!), 2 years teaching History to teenagers (it's the teachers you need to watch out for...), and 1 year working in a cinema box office. Then there was the Easter I spent as a museum guide (all I wanted to hear when I got home was blissful silence) and the year I was Residential Support Worker, working with foster kids, who were considered to have EBD. Now I'm a Primary School teacher.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different music - e.g. Eagle Eye Cherry and Missy Higgins.
Last couple TV shows I've watched:
Star Trek Picard
Outlander
My favourite books are 'The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared' by Jonas Jonasson, 'Slaughterhouse-Five' by Kurt Vonnegut and 'Angelfall' by Susan Ee.
Quotes, Quotes, Quotes:
"The important people in our lives leave imprints. They may stay or go in the physical realm, but they are always there in your heart, because they helped form your heart." - R. Cohn / D. Levithan
"In this life of froth and bubble, two things stand like stone. Kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own." - John Marsden
"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." - John Donne
"But this is slavery, not to speak one's thoughts." - Euripides
"The only thing that could make men forsake their own freedom and still believe they were free was self-rule." - Thaddeus Russell
"Any man whose errors take ten years to correct is quite a man." - J. Robert Oppenheimer
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking in Sequoia's Paradise Valley. Eating divine ramen in Mountain View! Swimming in pools fed by mountain streams... Jumping off a bridge at sunrise on a summer solstice. Lots of backpacking... Hosting folks!
Teach, Learn, Share
...As much, and as often, as possible.
What I Can Share with Hosts
