About Me

Hey! Visiting Ottawa? I'm new to the city and super down to hang out on evenings and weekends. We can explore new places together. Message me!

-----
Hello! My name is Annie. I'm always looking to try new things, meet new people, see new places, eat new foods! And generally experience a little more of the world. I grew up in a suburb near Toronto and went to university in Montreal. If you need food recommendations for Mtl, I'm your girl.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and couchsurfing is a great way to do it. Started using Couchsurfing in the summer of 2014 when I was traveling to Uganda and had an amazing experience. Through Couchsurfing I get to meet cool people, discover places I wouldn't otherwise, and have long talks I'll remember forever. I would like to continue making good memories via couchsurfing.

The couchsurfing community is absolutely incredible. I have participated in CS by surfing (on three continents!), meeting up with others (travelers and locals), and attending CS meetups.

Interests

Meeting new people and experiencing new things and being in new places!

I would definitely consider myself a city person but I do like to spend time outdoors (hikes, parks, picnics and of course enjoying cold drinks on patios in the summer!). People watching is fun. I also like to explore cities on foot and wander into little shops, chat with store owners. Even in my own city I like to do that.

Food is one of my great passions - cooking, baking, and of course eating. I'm always down to try new food, learn how to make it, and make it for others :) I'm also up for a challenge - e.g. When I was in Kenya without an oven, I used multiple pots to steam banana bread. Sometimes I make food from other countries that I have never tried, it is interesting to work from recipes that way - I don't pretend it's authentic, I just like to be inspired.

When I travel to a new place I like to experience the music and go dancing! I also like bars with live music, even if I don't understand a word.
