About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Feed the hungry, clothe the poor, save the whales, hug a few orphans, blah blah blah...
ABOUT ME
Friendly, a little quirky, always trying to do something new and cross things off my bucket list.
Met my true love through Couchsurfing, got him to stay in TBay instead of passing through. Sweetest guy with a mohawk you could ever meet.
PHILOSOPHY
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love it when my surfers offer a small gift to show gratitude for my hospitality. It can be helping to make dinner and wash dishes (even if you suck at cooking and hate cleaning), grabbing me a coffee (small, black), making a thank-you card or a bracelet, playing a song on your ukulele or your cello, putting on a magic show, mowing my lawn (yep, it's a push mower), helping me shovel my driveway (booo, winter), keeping me company on a drive to Chicago or to the East Coast, taking my dog for a walk with me, anything, as long as there's something to show appreciation for a clean room and a friendly welcome. Can you tell those are all things guests have done for/with me? God it's a wonderful world.
Also, when I get a request that lets me know you've read my profile it makes me feel special and *gosh* who doesn't like to feel special? That way I know we're on the same page.
The Couchsurfing Philosophy: I will offer you my couch free, along with the company of my friends and a tour of my favourite spots in my city. In return, you will give of yourself. In this way, we will be friends, if only for a day or two.
Interests
God, that's a tough one. I end up meeting a lot of other misfits and that makes things interesting. Learning from other peoples life experience helps me to not overreact to small setbacks.
I spend my time walking my dog, petting my cat, and planning my next trip.
Music, Movies, and Books
Comedies, documentaries, CBC, any kind of music except for country.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flew over Nepal and looked all the mountains from the plane.
Went for a trek on those mountains.
Petted a yak.
Hitchhiked in Borneo.
Learned what the word spelunking means.
Watched a crapload of bats fly out of a cave in Mulu.
Had a macaw steal my lunch.
Looked at some blue-footed boobies.
Saw llamas fall over while humping.
Shook around in a terremoto in Chile.
Got pulled over by a cop for cycling on the freeway in San Francisco (best cop ever).
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a love for learning things about other places and people. I might pick you apart with questions and also ask for some good swear words if you speak another language.
