Overview
About Me
Currently living/loving the small town life in the river village of Saxapahaw with my partner Corey and our furchild Lupita. Living in our van on our land while we build our homestead. We will be hosting as soon as we have a bathroom! Learning to grow more, waste less and live in community. I love the outdoors and in my free time I’m running, cycling, climbing and whitewater kayaking. Next trip planned is Mexico 2020!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I got involved with CS while travelling Europe with my brother in 2009, and soon became a huge fan, as I realized this urban version of camping provided me with opportunities and I couldn't even experience in a tent (let alone a hotel). CS is about people, and giving freely from what we've been given. My hosts and travelling buddies in Europe, India and Ecuador and the States have educated and challenged me in ways no Lonely Planet could have. I look forward to many more years off the beaten path.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My CS hosts and travel companions in 10+ countries over the past 4 years have changed the way I travel and the way I think about hospitality. I'm finally in a place where I can give back so come on out to Saxapahaw y'all!

Music, Movies, and Books
Always changing—I’d love to hear about or that had a big impact on you or that’s you could read/sing/watch over and over
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was visiting Bologna, I was walking with friends through the main piazza and encountered a man standing on a box in the center with about 15 or 20 others surrounding him. He was speaking about regional politics, and once he had said his piece stepped down and allowed another man to share his opinion. This continued for about a half hour without arguing or yelling, but each person waiting his turn and speaking respectfully to the others. College students and mothers shopping stopped to listen, occasionally taking a turn on the box themselves. I thought it was a really cool way to go about promoting public awareness and civic responsibility.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love languages. Spanish and Italian in particular, but I like to be able to say a few words to anyone I meet in their native tongue, so please teach me a few words, songs or phrases of yours.
I can teach you to whistle a blade of grass, make a killer pasta carbonara or tie climbing knots.
I would love to learn to make more things (clothes, ethnic foods, gardens) and fix more things (cars, bikes, problems like apathy).
I really like to share almost everything.
