CURRENT MISSION
planning the next big adventure
ABOUT ME
I'm a Canadian east-coaster with itchy feet who has spent a lot of time wandering around without a whole lot of an idea where I'm going but very happy with the way it's all gone!
I've spent a lot of time in SE Asia and Australia and Palawan, Philippines, stole my heart. I'm hoping to return there to do Masters Research in Reproductive Health.
I've moved away from trying to figure out a life plan to figuring out my next plan. So far, I'm pretty happy with that! :)
PHILOSOPHY
You have choices, always, and if you don't like how you are living or feeling, then change it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't stay at peoples' houses or have them stay with me very often, but I always enjoy meeting up with people for a drink, meal or adventure!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm always amazed at the different skills and interests of people. I hope I never stop being amazed.
Interests
Being with people I care about, outdoor adventures, kayaking, reproductive health policy, windy days, playing hockey, watching hockey, learning and speaking different languages, picnicking, biking, Fisheries Policy, Rural Economics, dancing, reading, the ocean, cooking, and of course, traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books
Harry Potter is and will forever be a favourite, no matter how old I get.
The best book I've ever read is No Great Mischief by Alastair McLeod, maybe because it tugs at the heartstrings of any east-coaster living away from there. The best book doesn't necessarily my favourite, just the most honest.
I'm a big fan of the "feel good" genre in movies. I can watch some serious ones but mostly love the ones where I am sobbing hilariously with happiness at the end.
I wish I had some gift for music, I have absolutely none. But I am a big fan of people that do. I will listen to anything that isn't too screamy or loud.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of the best feelings in the world is being on the back of a motorcycle at night time when there are stars in the sky. I've been lucky enough to experience that many times.
I worked on a camel farm in Western Australia for four months, which was hilarious and fun and got to know all 15 camels as individuals- amazing and funny animals!!
I lived out of a tent for 2 summers in the canadian bush, treeplanting. I look back in amazement at myself and how hard the work was, but I met some amazing people and had such a fun time, and survived some the nastiest weather (and bugs) that this country has to offer.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anything languages I'm keen to teach and learn! Trying hard to improve my Spanish and Tagalog at the moment.
I love teaching kayaking, which I have done for several years, however it is difficult to pass this skill on to fellow couchsurfers. Maybe I can just share my passion for it with you.
