Overview
About Me
I am 24years old and have just graduated from western Washington university. I love to travel and be outside! In the future I want to work in some type of non-profit as giving back to my own community and the communities I visit is hugely important to me. I am very amateur at speaking Spanish but eager to learn more and become fluent hopefully one day
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couch surfing because I love to travel, but hate paying for it! I have stayed in hostels and done Workaway, and through meeting other travelers through those organizations I heard about Courchsurfing. It sounds like a great way to get free accommodation while also meeting new people, and gaining a local's perspective of the area you are visiting, which in my opinion is the absolute best way to discover a new city, country or region.
Interests
Traveling is hands down my biggest interest. I love finding deals, cheap flights, looking at different types of accommodations and of course reading about different parts of the world and also the US. I love art, and so I enjoy going to museums and galleries. I enjoy reading in the sun and being outside as much as possible when the weather allows for it- it can get pretty rainy and grey here in the Pacific Northwest. I love to hike and be outdoors. Dogs are my favorite animals and believe they are part of the family not just pets. I love listening to music, sharing music and going to shows. I love to meet new people, hear their stories, ideas and dreams. Connecting with people both similar and different from myself is so important to me, I believe this is the best way to begin to understand the world, cultures, societies and the human experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different types of music, recently I have been listening mostly to Chinese Man, Galactic, John Mayall, Savoy Brown, Alt- J, The Donkeys and deep house is my groovin music to clean or drive to. And always come back to classics like Jeff Beck, and The Doors.
My favorite movie is Catch Me If You Can, and I love caper movies. I am also a sucker for anything with Adam Sandler but also always enjoy documentaries mostly about sports like snowboarding, base jumping etc. My favorite tv shows usually revolve around food, so anything with Anthony Bourdain is a hit as far as I'm concerned. My guilty pleasure is The Real Housewives, horrible, but true
I read mostly for school as of the last four years, but I really enjoy learning about different cultures so Mama Lola and The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down were both amazing reads. I love short stories such as The Yellow Wallpaper, The Lottery and anything Roald Dahl.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I have done is learn how to fly small airplanes! Though I never completed my certification, I spent about a year racking up 60 hours in the air on a little Cessna 172, and one time flew a 152 (a biplane, with my instructor of course). It was an amazing learning experience because flying encompasses knowledge of weather, engineering and physics. I never completed my certification because I was too scared to solo! So a great learning experience, because I learned that flying is definitely not the career path for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
While I am no expert I love aromatherapy and learning about natural ways to heal our bodies. If you have a belly ache or rash let me try and heal you! I had a rad book that I've learned a lot from
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to make people laugh but I know that humor is different across cultures, but let's give it a go! I try to be as adventurous as possible and like to go with the flow. I'm not high maintenance by any means
