About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To step out of my comfort zone a little more each day

ABOUT ME

My life has revolved around domestic voluntary service for the past two years and I am about to settle into my first "big-girl" job. I am a quiet individual who enjoys the outdoors, a good book and a great cup of coffee. I've been told that I'm thoughtful, laid-back, open-minded and adaptable.

In the past, my life has revolved around my work and I would like to make a conscious effort to experience more of the world through travel and interaction with interesting people!

PHILOSOPHY

To find peace in all things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to most music including showtunes, country, Japanese rock, folk, and everything in between. At the moment, I particularly enjoy Josh Ritter and Muse.

I am fascinated by well-produced and thought-provoking documentaries, though I'm also drawn to the occasional silver-screen-blockbuster-big-name-action-film. I try to stay away from romantic comedies/dramas.

I am currently in the middle of reading The People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn, Stephen King's The Stand, and Don Quixote. My interests shift frequently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the opportunity to assist on a national disaster relief operation with the American Red Cross this past spring. I was lucky enough to meet a woman who had lost everything and still had the ability to joke about the fact that she had a veritable pine forest in her living room. My perspective on life has never been so clear.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to knit and crochet and lead you through a 120-move form of Tai Chi Chuan.
