About Me
Heya ! :) I am Annik Mitterer, a french Canadian who is presently living in the beautiful city of Montreal.
I would consider myself as someone who gets along with everyone. There is no fuss with me hah! I also would say that I love simple things/moments so just talking and meeting new people is something I really enjoy! We all can share and learn from one another.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling has always been part of my life. I grew up going camping all over the province of Quebec with my parents and exploring the wonders our beautiful area has to offer. Yes camping is a lot of preparation and thinking in advance, but once you are set, the whole trip is just so simple. I am new to Couchsurfing but it already reminds me of those adventurous days, meeting new people and traveling through simplicity.
Interests
I have MANY interests - but briefly.
I love sports. I tried all possible sports when I was a kid but the one that I got hooked on was basketball. I ended up playing at the competitive level when I was in college which was one of the best experiences of my life! Apart from that, I really enjoy yoga (which I went to get my certification! Yay!), running, biking, swimming and hiking. Being outdoors is simply the best feeling!
After I graduated from a bachelors in International Business, I went through the whole graduation crisis thing. Hah. I really started to ask myself the tough questions such as 'what do I really want to do of my life?' 'How do I want to contribute to society?'. I finally decided to follow my intuition which brought me to the world of raw, vegan food. I love cooking and also learning how to make tasty plates with naturally grown foods. So I am presently on this mission...and hopefully I'll end up educating people a bit more about health through food !
Lastly, I love travelling. I feel that whenever I go off travelling, I learn so much about yes the world, but also so much about myself. I get to get out of my comfort zone, experience new things, meet wonderful people, learn about different cultures and feel even more grateful for what I have already in life.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy different types of music but recently I've been listening to Coldplay (always!), The Franklin Electric, Passion Pit, Vance Joy, Patrick Watson, Mounties, Alt-J, Arkells, Bear's Den, Ben Howard, Half Moon Run, Daughter, Capital Cities, Sam Smith, The Kooks, Imagine Dragons, Radiohead, MGMT, U2, Foster the People, Fun
I am a big fan of old rock. One of my fondest memories in relation to music is listening to my fathers' music playing from the basement. The classics of REM, Pink Floyd, Yes, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Cat Steven, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, The Who...
So I guess you get it, I LOVE music. It's a good therapy ! :)
I am not a huge fan of any movie in particular. I like watching series once in a while (Orange is the New Black, Suits, Homeland, Dexter and Breaking Bad) but what I enjoy most is documentaries about social and health issues.
My interest presently in books is those more related to health, food and spirituality.

I prepared 20 raw/vegan plats for the Rolling Stones when they came to perform at a huge music festival in Quebec City!! :D
