About Me
Hey! :)
My name is Annika and I live currently in Würzburg, Germany, where I study medicine.
I'm a very thoughtful, curious, warm-hearted person, who strives to experience life at it's fullest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I haven't couchsurfed yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it out.
It seems to be a great way to learn more about other cultures, people, landscapes and ways of life.
Interests
Nature and people amaze me every day. When we don't think a lot about life, it seems simple. But in fact it is so beautifully, perfectly complicated. That's what I love.
My life is very active. Sunbathing at the beach is nothing for me. I want to learn more about others, myself and this world. I want to experience things and make a difference in this world. Waking up early in the morning to go hiking in the mountains or do a project with others describes the perfect way to start my day.
But I also love to hang out with friends and just have a nice chat about all the great things in life.
I love music (especially classical music: There is so much depth an emotion in it.). When I'm unobserved I dance and sing all the time. :)
I also enjoy reading literature or writing stories and poems myself. Unfortunatly I don't find so much time to do that anymore due to my studies.
I'm also a big fan of theatre (acting and watching). It is such a good way to learn more about your own view on life and that of others. Occasionally I watch plays or shows in my cities' theatre (but far not often enough!).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I like any kind of music, that makes me feel good. I don't know a lot about the different composers and groups though, I just listen to whatever I like. Regarding classical music, Chopin is among my favorites.
Books:
In general I prefer books with some depth in them (e.g. "The book thief"). Autobiographies are great. From time to time I also read humorous books, if they are not complete nonsense. ;)
I usually don't read a lot of science fiction, but somehow I'm a huge Harry Potter fan (but just of the books!). I admire how every part of the story is thought through so well and how all the little details fit together so perfectly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent a year in the USA as an exchange student. :)
Currently I am an active member of the exchange program for medical students in Würzburg. We organize exchanges for medical students with countries from all over the world. It is always a great pleasure to host international students in our small city. In 2016 I spent a week in Croatia with a similar program and got to know the medical system in Croatia. Very interesting, great people and fun times!
