ABOUT ME

*update July-August 2012 I'm working in Morris Plains and living in Boonton, NJ*

I'm a very social and enthousiastic person who likes some adventure! That's why I did a 9 months working holiday in Australia in October 2010, partially together with one of my bestest friends 'Elke'.

More about me: I'm the kind of person that's always up for some fun. So if you give me a ring to go on an adventure the next day, I'm probably already packing to go with you or regreting that I already have other important things to do.

I've been studying in Leuven the past 5 years and I've grown a lot in that time. I did a couple of things in my student organisation and learned a lot from it, and most of all people skills.

I never really travelled a lot because there was never stimulation at home. We breeded 'Bouvier' dogs and stayed home with our pets. But since I went to Iceland... There's no stopping me!

One thing I do every summer and look forward to all year is trekking on horseback with HVRM (riding association). We ride 5 days, from one place (a riding school, a farm, a camping, ...) to another. On friday we arrive, together with all to other riding association on a location and we stay till Sunday and do all sorts of activities like a big campfire. Usually the 5 days 'on the road' are the most fun. HVRM has about 70 members with ages from 14-70 years old, 20 tot 30 people choose to join the week and it's like a big family.

PHILOSOPHY

"You don't have to be tall to be great" --> Just so you know, I'm not very tall and I don't mind joking about it ;-).

"Say yes to life" --> I find Danny Wallace (the person who said yes to everything for a whole year) very inspiring. It does however mean I usually am very buzy as I wanna do so much :-)!

"If you tell me, I will listen. If you show me, I will see. If you let me experience, I will learn" ~Lao-Tseu~ --> no better way to learn about a country then to experience it (through CS!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first experience in Durbuy in June 2010! It was so great and I'm looking forward to trying some other couches as well :-).

In January 2011 I couchsurfed in Melbourne during the Australian Open. My host spoiled me so much!

In February/March 2011 I surfed in Perth, also a wonderful experience!

Travel around Iceland: amazing nature!
I also got the chance to ride with a herd of Icelandic horses and make sure they stayed together and went where we wanted them to go (incluiding crossing deep rivers!). I still can't believe I got to do this..

If you already have some horseriding experience, I love to teach you how to ride an Icelandic horse!

In the future I'm hoping to improve my French, learn a bit of Spanish, learn how to cook a bit better, ...
And I always want to learn more about horseback riding, different riding styles, riding different breeds, ...
