Overview
About Me
As a former student of 'Renewable Energy Management' (M.Sc.), I'm now working as a Business Developer for a Software Company in Cologne, that is developing solutions for (energy-) device communication. I love sports (running and Salsa dance), cooking (vegan), music (radio as well as life music), acting (working for various tv/film productions), free concerts and exploring foreign countries, cities and nature. I can say that I'm a tidy and reliable person and people, so far, told me they appreciated spending time togteher. Traveling (mostly with backpack), either alone or in a group- has always been a pleasure and each time I'm getting to know myself a little better. I've been visiting several countries in Europe, South East Asia and South America. In Greece I spent one year as a nanny, in Brazil I did a semester abroad, the same for Indonesia, where I enjoyed to live in a tropical country while expanding not only my cultural but also academic background.
Few words to my personality:
- funny, smart, green, sustainable, critical, ambitious, open minded, self-relfected, spontaneous -
Philosophy:
Hakuna Matata
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love today's opportunity to simply leave one's home once you get too routinized with every day life. You just go and see a bit more of the world. In this period of my life, I feel that traveling enriches my life more than having the newest TV set, a car or a house. Meeting foreign people, getting to know different cultures and learn more about oneself is what makes me feel 'rich' and what I like a lot. Once I'm out there, I try to avoid the classic mainstream tourist stuff and rather go for the local way of life- if possible. Thus, staying with someone who actually knows about how life works in that spot on earth, helps a lot.
Also I like the idea of mutual 'give and take' and the (buddhist) understanding of 'Karma'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
* Doing a jungle walk in one of the world oldest rainforests (Malaysia) without guide - we ended up getting lost and having leeches all over our bodies. Wanna hear the whole story? Ask me in person ;)
* Celebrating christmas with brazilian locals (cariocas) that we only met one day before. My friend and I were invited to the family's house in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro without even knowing them.
* Riding a scooter in Indonesia every day (only way for mobility in Yogyakarta).
* Seeing the Great Pyramid of Gizeh (Cheops) from inside.
* Going on a road trip in Sinai (Egypt) with a super cool (but hitherto unknown) Egyptian. Saw the desert, christal clear water, had some food prepared by real bedouines and did my first dive.
* Skydiving though I'm afraid of hights...and airplanes :D
