About Me

CURRENT MISSION

discover the world and new people, cultures, creatures, languages, foods, cities, landscapes, ways of enjoying life...

ABOUT ME

all about me can not be put into words. read below for the most basic things, for the rest i guess you have to come meet me. :)

PHILOSOPHY

Man muss von sich und der Welt immer mehr erwarten, als scheinbar vorhanden ist. Und da ist immer mehr, man muss nur aufbrechen, und es suchen.

i never lose sight of the fact that just being is fun!
-katharine hepburn-

Interests

this will be hard for me to fill in, as i am really interested in almost everything and so it`s hard to write about everything. but i guess i could just tell you about the most important things and the hobbies i practice regularly.
The hobby i spend most time at is dancing. any kinds of dancing. i`ve been doing ballet since i was 4, i do jazz and modern dance, i did standard and latin dances for some years, did several workshops in all kinds of dancing styles and of course i love to go dancing in clubs or also anywhere else (like on the street, in a shop, at home...) :). i`ve also been doing gymnastics and trampoline and i`ve been training a group of kids in both. i like to be engaged and participate in all kinds of things, e.g. the students council, the students journal, work at the local sports club, social events or workshops.
i also play the piano, but like everything else i do, i just do it for fun, i hate competitions and pressure to be the best in everything.
i write for the local newspaper as a free-lancer and i love to read. i read almost any kinds of books... oh i just saw that there`s an extra section for that.
i love to learn languages, to use them and to get to know different people, cultures, countries, habits, traditions etc. like that! Discussions about anything with anyone make my life richer and more interesting and it`s wonderful to discover new sides to everything and new opinions on every subject!
i like watching movies, listening to music, talking, talking, talking and laughing. also i tend to make bad jokes and laugh hard about them, no matter if i made them or someone else.
i very much enjoy going to the theater to see plays, ballets, operas, musicals...
i do vonlunteer work, and i study psychology - so basically i'm interested in people :)
i think i have to stop now or i will never finish (:

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost any kind of music... i`ve heard people say that "almost anything" is not a taste, but there we go: i don`t have a specific taste in music that you could define by a term. i am not into techno and not that kind of gangsta hiphop, german folklore can give me the creeps, but apart from that - show me the song and i tell you what i think about it.
i love reading. i prefer reading novels to specialized books. no matter if thrillers, lovestories, mystery, suspense, fantasy, historic novels, philosophical books... i enjoy all of them.

in matters of movies i don`t like horror movies and stupid, senseless movies. Right now, while i'm writing this, i most recently enjoyed watching "August Rush", "Happens in Vegas" and "Vantage Point".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

when i was a kid i went to see the expo in hannover. that was amazing. i saw "les miserables" in quebec city, which was fantastic.
on a holiday in greece we hiked all the way to the very end of the peloponnes and spent the night at a former monastery, slept outside and saw falling stars. fantastic!
i did the tongariro crossing in new zealand. wow!
i travelled one year by myself and met so many great and unbelievably friendly and welcoming people - amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

i could teach you basics in dancing, in gymnastics and trampoline. probably also in snowboarding if you are a beginner. i can show you some stuff on the piano.
if you aren`t a native speaker, i can teach you english. of course also german. basic french, if you want to. and some phrases in finnish or spanish :).

i`d love to learn anything you can teach me, i so much enjoy trying new things, and in my opinion you can never learn enough!
i would like to learn how to sow my own clothes, how to play the saxophone, how to tap dance, to name a few.

Well, i can share my opinions, my knowledge, my skills. i`d share my happiness, my experiences, my good mood and my willingness to listen and help.
