Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just a huge fan of the CS spirit - great experiences and even greater people
CS is the manifestation of loving the person next to you - genuine generosity

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

until now I've mostly contributed as a "surfer" but ever since settling down a bit, I’ve had the honor of sharing my home with some travelers as well (:

Interests

PEOPLE,
what is it that makes a place special? it's the people
I believe that you can learn something from every person you meet (and I just love listening

little self-advertisment here: http://annapriewasser.tumblr.com or https://www.instagram.com/annprie/
this is where I share portraits of the people I meet on the road - a never-ending project - become part!

Former field service engineer, working all over the world commissioning machines for the semiconductor industry.. which raised the question of ->
Sustainability. How can each and every one of us live a life that is in balance with our environment?

I am excited to meet people that are driven by this question and are (if not already) willing to explore new/old ideas, driving change and making a better tomorrow.

Music, Movies, and Books

in this second
I want to let my heart beat
once more for the sake of it
not for someone else
not for myself
and not for anything
in this second
I feel
one actually can live
this freely

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

everyday
- breaking my ankle in Vietnam and learning to walk again
- ending up in an Italian restaurant, surrounded by Italians, espresso, the sound of romantic Italian ballads played on a shabby keyboard, all in all.. having the most Italian experience you could have,.. oh and all of this in some industrial city in China in the middle of the night
- jumping into the sea (4°C-ish) in Korean winter, accompanied by Baywatch intro music and work colleagues cheering me on
- my last week in South Korea: on a little trip to Han River to show my colleague around (who had just come here a day ago to be my substitute for several weeks / his first time in KR), we stumbled upon an open air concert for a classical music festival. We ended up on stage (together with 2 Mexican guys who where also to slow to leave the crowd), singing some traditional Austrian song on stage in front of 400-500 people (;
- putting up my hammock and sleeping in an abandoned camping facility somewhere in Portugal (imagine empty/ trashed camper vans, tents and personal items distributed on a football field sized space)
- finishing a roadtrip with exactly 7777,7km (and questioning my existence for a solid 10min)
- witnessing true love and compassion between strangers on a bus ride to the port of Athens, Greece at 4am in the morning
- shaved my head and had my jaws broken willingly

etc etc etc etc life's dope, magic is to be found everywhere
