About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world

ABOUT ME

I'm from Germany, currently living and studying in Dresden. I started doing some extensive travelling right after I left school in 2008.
After living in London for a year I decided against uni and moved to Australia instead. I fell in love with its beautiful nature and kind hearted people. I ended up travelling through Asia on and off whilst still living in Australia. After more than three years of travelling I decided to return to Germany to start university. I've been back for nearly two years now and miss being on the road with nothing but my backpack - so I'm still trying to travel as much as possible in my semester breaks.

I'm a pretty easy going, passionate, curious and open minded person. I love getting to know different cultures and ideas on life, meeting new people and hearing about their experiences and thoughts. I like to enjoy the moment and live life to its fullest by making the most of every day.

PHILOSOPHY

I personally think it is very important to live and enjoy the moment and not to look back and regret - but to learn! There is beauty in everything, we 'simply' need to TRUST as everything has its reason!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and host - and I love it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am absolutely and utterly in love with it!
It is the best way to travel and an amazing opportunity to meet interesting and open minded people, really get to know a different culture and the people who live in it! When you welcome a stranger into your home or are welcomed into someone else's home, amazing and inspiring things happen - fortunately this has always been the case in my experience!

Interests

It might come to your surprise - but I really love travelling :)
I'm also passionate about art, music, analoge photography, books, yoga, sewing, gin n' tonic and deep conversations. I love taking long walks, the feeling of lush grass under your bare feet, endless summer nights, the smell of rain and pretty much everything beautiful this world has to offer...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into many different kinds of music such as electronic music, experimental stuff, singer-songwriter, indie, funk, jazz and everything that makes my heart drop and body dance.

The Alchemist is one of my favorite books - Paulo Coelho is a genius author who inspires me so much! I also love books by Franz Kafka, Hermann Hesse and Roald Dahl - just to name a few. The orange girl, Victoria decides to die and Into the wild are also books that made me fall in love with them instantly.

I have a big passion for films too - I love both, fiction and documentaries, as well as short films and video-art. A few examples would be: Baraka, city of god, big fish, dancer in the dark, into the wild, charlie and the chocolate factory, avatar, waking life, science of sleep, Amelie, edward scissorhands, march of the penguins, zeitgeist the movie, fight club, I'm here, the hours, persepolis, eternal sunshine and many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would not be able to pick one amazing thing I have done or seen...there are so many amazing and beautiful moments that pop into my mind when I start to think about that. It may just be a smell, the feeling of wind brushing against my skin while I'm looking into the distance, the atmosphere of an evening with friends and wine, the feeling of sand running through my hands in the evening sun, eye-contact with a stranger that suddenly inspires me, sitting on the rooftop with the sun shining into your face while you get lost in view of the endless distance... these little moments are the things I never forget and keep in mind for years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I m happy to teach anyone who is interested everything I know and have learned in and about life. I could also teach you some german or how to play the drums.
I m pretty sure everyone has got something to teach and certainly to learn...so lets share :)
