Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore and grow into the world around me by meeting as many different people and experiencing all that I can.
ABOUT ME
As a recent college grad, I'm more than ready to step out of my suburban, campus bubble and leap into the world. I'm excited to start meeting new people, sharing what I have to offer, and learning from others and sharing experiences.
I grew up in Charlotte, NC, then studied journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. I love laughing with friends and family, whether we're watching movies, playing games, boating on the lake, cooking out or chatting over wine and cheese. I love staying fit, active and healthy, and I always encourage those around me to join in and have fun doing so. In general I'm pretty laid back, but that doesn't mean I don't like to go out dancing or learn new things like scuba diving, surfing, hang gliding, unicycling, pole dancing and skydiving--all of which I've done, loved and will do again.
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust
PHILOSOPHY
Live a happy, healthy life, and celebrate the opportunity to be you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I'm bouncing around Europe, so I'm only a surfer. But one day when I have my own place in Charlotte I hope to host other surfers and show them the best of my hometown. But whether I'm surfing or hosting, I want to be a part of a global conversation that opens minds and spurs appreciation and acceptance of other cultures, no matter how different from one's own.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything funny and/or cheerful, uplifting. I refuse to watch or read anything that's excessively sad--I think sadness is the worst and hardest emotion.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some of my favorite memories are: Skydiving between exams, scuba diving in a 100 ft-deep cavern, snorkeling with manatees and playing with two at once, dancing for 24 hours straight for UNC's Dance Marathon, hang gliding in Kitty Hawk, NC (where the Wright brothers took their first flights), touring around Italy and the south of France with my sister when we were in high school, founding an organization when I was 17 that raised over $52,000 to fund and build a Habitat for Humanity home in memory of a friend, opening Blizzard Beach at Disney World by plunging down Summit Plummet, learning to unicycle, eating a Krispy Kreme Burger at the NC State Fair, and hashing (ask me what this is sometime).
Teach, Learn, Share
Things I can teach: Photography and photo editing, healthy eating and exercise habits, and positivity :)
Things I'd like to learn: All sorts of new adventure activities, different styles of dance, how to do pen and ink drawings, how to paint, and how to sing (but only when I can work up enough courage to sing in front of others!)
