ABOUT ME

I'm a nice vegan, interested in many different topics from natural to social sciences (and all the gray areas in between).I love to read and discuss different opinions; I am very curious (nerd alert! ;)), but known when to tone it down. I love spending "quality" time outside - by myself or in the company of family and friends - I think plants are awesome and find it easy to refill my batteries during a walk/jog. I also work in a group that's working on establishing an Urban Garden in SI, as well as planting educational School Gardens for kids and improving local food self sufficiency.I like meeting people with various backgrounds and cultures and have lately been trying to learn some more Spanish. I can play some piano, but I prefer get-together evenings with the guitar and singing along (although for now, I'm the one singing, but I'm working on the playing part ;)). I am cheery and easy to get along with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a couple of people on the couch (from distant and a bit less distant places) at my family's house and I crashed some couches myself. Can't say I have a ton of experience just yet, but I am always looking forward to new ones! :)

Interests

I'm into psychology (especially into social and positive psychology) and philosophy (all sorts of topics besides animal rights) quite a great deal. Social and political ecology (I swear it is not at all as boring as it sounds!) also picked my interest - this is also the field that provokes me professionally.

Also, I love doing puzzles, spending time learning about other cultures (esp. spanish/latino ones). Someday I'd like to learn Braille's and knitting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a good comedy (sarcastic ones as well :)), but am not a fan of average chick-flicks. I enjoy movies/books that bring along a message/idea/inspiration or some really interesting facts, represented from a different angle.I'm hooked on The Big Bang Theory. Nerd alert! ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a part of a group that strives to get local food self-sufficiency on its feet and I think what we're doing is pretty awesome :).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of this and a bit of that, mostly by sharing ideas, information and experience; I can also be of help in the kitchen (cooking & baking of yummy vegan food), since I love to experiment and trying out new things.
