Overview
About Me
This is Anshul from India. Currently doing my masters in Business in Paris, France. I like to travel a lot and while I was working in India I travelled to most of the countries in South East Asia. Now I am studying in Europe and want to see as much of it as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
to make new friends, to know about places from a local perspective and to share travel experiences.
Interests
Scuba Diving - I am an advanced level PADI scuba diver with 80+ dives ranging in warm waters of south east Asia to frozen lakes in Siberia. There is an amazing world down there that I have experienced and have many tales to tell of places I have been to.
Sketching - I like making pencil portraits, sometimes quick ones in 10-15 mins or sometimes those that takes months. Never schooled in art, but have been practising and improving on it for past five years
Trekking/Hiking - mostly been doing in the Indian Himalayas, have also done a month long course in Basics of Mountaineering.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - been trying all genre ranging from Metal to Classical, mostly depends on the mood. Currently addicted to Bolero by Ravel.
Movies - I can call myself a Cinephile, although Horror, Sci-fi and Fantasy movies are my preferred genre. I try to find more indie horror movies and vintage movies also. Would be glad to discuss directors/story-arcs and plots. Also a big fan of a group of movies that fall as 'movies like Donnie Darko' - those that are a psychological adventures and challenge the mind. Favourite movie would be 'Godzilla 1954'
Books - read all the books by Fredrick Forsyth, spy thrillers are my favourite genre. Also Sci-Fi and fantasy. A Potter fan at heart!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did 26,000 kms overland journey from St.Petersberg in Russia crossing entire trans-siberia, Mongolia, China by trains/buses and finally reaching Tibet, China where I spent couple of days before traveling overland into Nepal and then to India. I am a big fan of overland travel across borders and always making plans for my next big adventure.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you plan travels in any of the countries I have been to, specially south east Asia, and most importantly my home country, India.
If you want to have a portrait made, I would be very happy to draw one for you!
