About Me

Open, positive and meanwhile serious person, loving my wife and kids and working in non-profit world since ever. Enjoy international environment - travelling is the best, but hosting people in my country or town is great as well.

Born in Sabile (18 years), then moved to Valmiera (18 years), and back to Sabile in 2019.
Travelled to few countries in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. Far South are still on my dream list.

Maths and numbers is my passion. Humans and social environment is my job.

MISSION: Having interesting and fulfilled life by helping other people on their dreams. And my job at philanthropic organisation allows me to achieve both of them!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Surfed a couch few times in Canada and Texas - it was great experience and made my stay really enjoyable. Now I am happy to pay it forward.
Hosted few times in my ex-apartment in Valmiera and few times in my new place Sabile - my kids loved it, too!
Enough reasons to be on Couchsurfing :)

Interests

Geocaching! Love board games: Agricola, Carcassonne, Caylus, Ticket to Ride, Catan etc. Cooking when get the right mood and inspiration. Travelling and seeing the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is part of my everyday life as a background for working, but particular style does not matter so much. Jazz, instrumental and chill-out music sounds perfect for me, reggae and African vibes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling and meeting new people is the best thing I have ever enjoyed. Two of those absolutely best were: 3-weeks youth exchange in Japan in 2008 and hiking couple of peaks in Canadian Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia - awesome!!!! Since then I love mountain hiking so much.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My new family house (renovated childhood home, actually) can be your home if our small town Sabile appears on your travel map. Good gateway to explore Kurzeme, half-way between Baltic Sea coast and Riga airport :)
Happy to share my evening and weekend hours with you.
