Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A friend once told me that he would be afraid to let unknown people to stay in his house. To that my answer was and still is: "The total value of things in my apartment is much less than how much I value the trust among us humans."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was first exposed to couch surfing when my friends and I hitchhiked around Europe in 2005, and I started couch hosting in Riga right after. I've experienced both---getting an average of twenty requests a day while living in Paris and being happy if I even got five requests a year in Waterloo---but it has always been pleasure rediscovering my cities with together with my visitors. And my hosts, Wow, it's nearly impossible to recall all the great times they have given me. Absolutely wonderful!

Interests

To capture surroundings abstract way, to sit and feel the power of the nature, to smile when see other people smiling, to prove something for myself, ... . More particular ones would be salsa dancing, rock climbing, swimming, cooking and, of course, quantum computing

~ 10 000 km hitchhiking trip in Europe: Riga-Amsterdam-Beernem-Paris-Bordeaux-La Coruna-Porto-Lisbon-Barcelona-Riga.

Teach, Learn, Share

We could share some nice food, something with Latvian twist, hopefully. And then maybe a jamming session. I would teach how not to play guitar, because I have almost no clue myself ;)
