About Me
After working in the fashion industry for a few years I decided I needed something new, something that can enrich me and make me happy.
Traveling at a young age with my parents to some of the most beautiful places in the world ignited my passion for different cultures and countries. During my studies I was partially able to satisfy this longing for adventures by participating foreign study semesters in the UK and Madrid. As a young professional, clearly it was not as easy to combine work with travel. For this reason my boyfriend and I decided to quit our jobs, fulfill our dream and travel the world.
Well, here we are…
Starting from LA we traveled the americas down to Chile. On our way we met meet lots of wonderful people and made new friends. If you want to have a closer peek or see what face is behind "about me" visit my instagram: https://instagram.com/toni.be/ and Jan: https://www.instagram.com/jan.mcn/
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I only learned about this site this year but the next day, first thing I did: Signing up :-). Such a wonderful way to meet people from all over the world, make them understand who you are and what your folks are like....
Especially when I was showing my friends from abroad my city, I noticed the difference in being a guest and in being a tourist.
When I am traveling I prefer to stay with locals to get a better understanding of the country and the people who live there. Far away form the typical tourist life you learn more about the people than elsewhere. When I am hat home I love to share that experience with others and show them the best secret spots.
Since we were traveling the americas in a camper, it was hard to host any guest. But if you want to follow us or maybe even visit us you can follow our instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jan.mcn/.
Interests
Clearly at this point in my life my main interest is to learn as much as possible about different cultures, countries and of cause meet lots and lots of new people. During our trip I am also hoping to re-improve my spanish.
While thinking about "Interest" I think about things I love spending my time for. One of the things which is very important for me, is always spending enough time with my family.
I love fashion and I have a very good feeling for styling. I know how superficial and contradictory to the backpacking lifestyle we are living right now, thats sounds... but hey, I just love what fashion tells you about someone. Clearly packing for one year on the road was challenge ;-).
