Overview
About Me
I love meeting new people. They are like books that I haven't read yet. I really value apps like Blablacar and Couchsurfing that bring strangers together to learn about someone else's world while also providing some kind of service that costs so little for the host but is so valuable for the guest. I don't watch reality tv or anything like that, I try to get my fix from people in actual reality (I make an exception for the tv series "Alone" if you haven't seen the Australian version I recommend!)
A little about me: I work with young people doing various things over the years like outreach stuff, holiday programs, after-school community programs for children from refugee backgrounds, maths/science teacher... I think I am a friendly, adventurous, introspective, relaxed idealist. I like to play football/futsal, go to the beach, camp, hike, listen to music, road trips, try new foods, climb things and push my luck!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have really valued my couchsurfing experiences so far. These interactions have been authentic, fun and immersive. I would like to keep surfing and hosting to chase these kinds of experiences. Couchsurfing attracts such interesting, welcoming and adventurous individuals!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Folk/indie/rock. Other random bits and pieces
Books:
I feel like I go in waves of what I like. I've enjoyed reading some Leo Tolstoy, John Wyndham is great old-time sci-fi and so was Frank Herbert's 'Dune' series, Stieg Larsson's girl with the dragon tattoo series is the best 👍Hans Rosling and Rugter Bregman have really positive outlooks on the world when you think it is a sad grim place i recommend reading their books 🙏 I read the collection of letters Vincent van Gough wrote to his brother over his lifetime and it was a very beautiful read ❤️ Also the Book of Joy which is basically just a week-long conversation Desmund Tutu had with the Dalai Lama also a wonderful book ❤️
Movies:
I love all the different iterations of Spiderman! I am trying to branch out away from just Hollywood stuff and this year saw 'Mon Crime' and 'Anatomy of a Fall' which were original and refreshing!
