Hi guys! My name is Anthony Connelly. I'm excited to be traveling again. My last trip was 10 years ago so it's all very new again. I work in environmental conservation, love being outdoors and I'm an active musician. I do some touring around Australia with my bands and hopefully overseas too.

I love cooking for people and eating meals together and learning new recipes and local delicacies. I enjoy exploring and getting to know new places by foot or bicycle so I can feel like I've really been somewhere enough to get to know it well.

I love getting out for camping and hiking trips with friends and I love showing other travelers my favourite places and to visit. I'm always on the look out for a great spot to swim even if it's cold (by Australian standards) haha!
I love going to see live music and experiencing different local music scenes. I'm very spoiled in Melbourne as we have one of the most vibrant music scenes in the world but I'd love to what else is out there. Also i'm always up for a house party, chilled out or crazy are both fine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always had travelers stay at my place and taken the pleasure of meeting amazing people and showing them around to cool places in Melbourne. I've joined Couchsurfing for my upcoming travel as a way to meet cool and interesting people and have exciting adventures during my travels through UK, Scandinavia and Europe. I don't have a ton of time at each stop so it would be great to get some insider knowledge from some cool locals. I hope to see you on my journey.

Interests

I work in environmental conservation in Victoria Australia and it is a great way to get outside and see so much of our beautiful Australian wildlife. And yes we see Kangaroos everyday.

I've done some bushland fire control which has been an exciting experience and I'd love to get more experience doing bushfire control.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam out into Port Phillip Bay by myself in the middle of winter one time. I honestly don't know why I did that, I just wanted to give it a shot and it was absolutely freezing but I made it back alive. I had mild hypothermia as a result. Probably a little bit dangerous but at least I got it out of my system. Haha!
