Overview
About Me
Embrace diversity.
Curious and forever seeking new experiences.
In my own mind, I'm not adventurous, but many friends back in Oz and family seem to think I am.
Living in Japan, but currently visiting France to try to get a grasp of French. It shouldn't be so hard for an English-speaker, I hope. Certainly should be easier than Japanese...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Not sure.
Mainly to meet interesting people from around the planet, and especially in Toulouse atm.
Interests
Travel (Asia, Europe, Australia, near future South America, I hope), history, reading, Japanese language (kanji geek), Japanese culture (literature, tea ceremony, calligraphy, lacquer), languages (dabble in many languages).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: 80s synthpop, techno (progressive house), classical (polyphonic chant through to Glass), and other sounds from around the globe.
Movies: love movies from places other than Hollywood to see the world through other perspectives. Also love Australian cinema. Love sci-fi that depicts near-future.
Some movies I love that spring to mind: Head On, Blade Runner, Minority Report.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited the Ice Lantern Festival in Harbin. Beautiful, freezing cold, and a chance to visit Unit 731 museum.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learn: languages - current focus in French, always learning Japanese, need to revisit Mandarin/Thai, future plans include Korean, Spanish, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I was a tour guide long ago in Australia, and it's a talent/curse that I love to be a tour guide wherever I live.
Love to share experiences in Oz, Japan, elsewhere and also all I know about the Japanese language, especially kanji.
