About Me

I'm a Kiwi currently travelling. After nearly 2 years backpacking in Asia I'm now travelling much more slowly and spending more time in a place. Very flexible with my plans and going where the wind takes me. I'd love to have many new experiences wherever I'm travelling.

I enjoy going slowly, meeting people, and exploring a place. I'm looking forward to meeting people all over the world. If anyone would like to hangout or host me, I would love that, and of course whenever I'm based somewhere I'd love to host you ❤️.

I have met so many kind, amazing people around the world and have had countless exciting experiences. I want to continue to meet new people and cultures, and be able to share our experiences in life and in travel.

I love to discuss life, travel, culture, sport, music, hobbies, etc. over a meal. Walking around exploring a city, its history, its people, exploring the countryside, and spending time in nature are some of my favourite things to do in a place. I also enjoy playing board games and cards. I would love to do more adventurous and outdoor activities in the future.

I'm always happy to cook a meal if I'm being hosted. I also don't smoke or drink alcohol.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best part of my travelling so far has been meeting the many people along the way and learning about different cultures. Whether it's that person I met and chatted to for 5 minutes, or a new travel buddy/friend. I'd like to continue to meet other like-minded travellers and locals to help inspire me on my travels wherever that may be, and to help me learn about and become immersed into a range of different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can never decide on what my favourites are... but off the top of my head:
Music (I will give most types of music a go) - 70's/80's Rock, the latest pop music, etc.

Books - Life of Pi, Losing Eden, The Alchemist, Deep Walking, Wild
Movies - I don't watch movies as often as I'd like, but the genre doesn't matter - action, comedy, drama, musical, sci-fi - you name it I'll probably watch it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best "thing" I've ever done was to buy a one way ticket to Europe with no plans and travel around there. I ended up doing this for 10 months, and it sparked my love of travel.
But honestly I've had countless amazing experiences so it's impossible to choose one, and of course I'm hoping for many more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
• Teach English to others who want to improve their English speaking, reading and/or writing

• How to play tennis?

Learn:
• I would love to learn about different cultures and learn new languages

• Most importantly, to learn about the world from all of the diverse and beautiful people there are to meet on this planet.

Share:
• My experiences from all of the places I've travelled to so far, as well as some insight into NZ for those who are interested in going there.
• Information about China and my experience living and working there as an English teacher
• A good conversation and maybe a home cooked vegan meal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the experiences that I've had so far in my life, or cook a meal.
Information about NZ for fellow travellers.
A traditional Kiwi meal you ask? Although we do have some classic Kiwi foods, NZ is a culinary melting pot of different dishes taken from other countries and we don't have a rich culinary history like other countries. I'm sure I could tell you what I think is a classic Kiwi meal or my take of other cultures and their food though haha.
