Hi there,I am a fully blind bloke from Belgium. I happen to be really passionate about music of all kinds but in particular melodic dance and trance. To work out this passion , I act as half of Xijaro and Pitch, a DJ/Producer duo project, for which I compose music and play in clubs and festivals as well as online during our Twitch and YouTube streams. To combine my passion for radio, oh yeah, that's another passion of mine,and my interest in psychology and the social sciences, I went for a master in communication and media studies as well as radio journalism, creating documentary style podcasts in Belgium as well as in India. This collides in turn with my love for traveling and meeting new people and cultures. A fire that ultimately started sparking at a youth conference for blind and visually impaired people, stimulating their inclusion in a sighted world, called ICC. Ever since, I am active as a volunteer to give workshops on accessible technology, social skills and music production to visually impaired people in Belgium and abroad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sharing beautiful stories and moments with people of all cultures, mutually enriching each other,is what drives me forward in life. This is exactly what attracted me to this platform and what I aim to do here, no matter if it is by means of a hang out, a couch surfing experience or maybe even hosting someone in my own student roomm.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musically, a combination of melody, emotion and rhythm, outlines the patterns found in my taste. My first love was for trance, which could be described as melodic and emotional dance music. A few of my favourite artists in this genre are Armin Van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Aly & Filaand Mike Push. That said, there are artists from many other dance music genres that manage my heart skip a beat as well, including Wasted Penguins (hardstyle) Nora and Pure (deephouse), Keeno (Liquid drum & bas) and Allan Walker.
Especially when I feel melancholic, I can spend hours losing myself in non-electronic music genres. Depending on how I feel in particular, I might find myself listening to ballads or slow pop(Ed Sheeran ) sound tracks or epic classical and Celtic music(Hans Zimmer, Thomas Bergersen, Enya) or even symphonic metal (Within Temptation, Evanescence, Nightwish).

When it comes to books and movies, the hard reality is that I barely have time to delve into one. When I do, I always enjoy myself though. Different genres can entice me equally, from more literary works,to a good thriller or even a romance story. I love it when people recommend me books, movies or series , so feel free to message me about that.
