I dance. I love to dance. Dancing is the air I breathe. I do other things, too like dog walk and work at a restaurant. But that's mostly so I can dance. I'm a swing dancer mostly but have been known to get down to soul or hip-hop or any other type of music a time or twenty.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I'm not dancing, I love meeting new people and talking and sharing ideas. It's the greatest thing in the world to connect with a person and have that feeling of understanding and being understood yourself. It is a special moment when you talk to people with whom you sympathize and who are sympathetic to you as well. These are the moments I live for. And without them, what'd be the fucking point of anything, you know?

Also, I like staying with people who live in the city I am visiting when I'm traveling as well. I also like doing that on the cheap. So, I guess I'm responsible for doing that same thing for other travelers when I'm home.

I'm getting down to some Barrett Strong right now and am always trying find some good early RnB. People I'm listening to right now and LOVING: Sylvan Esso, Tennis, Hall & Oates, Lake Street Dive, any traditional jazz band in New Orleans, early jazz, Chet Baker, Earl Sweatshirt, Childish Gambino, The Tumbling Wheels, Hank Williams, The Cactus Blossoms, Nicky Egan, Buena Vista Social Club, bobo yeye style music, etc.

Books I'm reading right now: Peter Cameron's The City of Your Final Destination, The Penguin Book of the English Sonnet, Jacques Barzum's An Essay on French Verse, Dave Egger's A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.

Movies I've recently watched and liked: Coen Brother's Barton Fink, Kenneth Branagh's As You Like It, Born to Be Blue, The Place Beyond the Pines, Catch Me if You Can, Damian Szifron's Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales).
