About Me

I am an active male, in a relationship with my traveling partner. We also often travel with our young adult son.

I am an avid walker. I love history. I love snorkeling and scuba diving. I used to enjoy riding bicycles, now I have switched to a recumbent tricycle.

Our son made it through Eagle Scout and I went on many adventures with him to get there. Even though he is no longer in Scouts, the family stays involved.
I am an active Rotarian.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm slowing down and I am getting more into just being in an area and learning about the local life. I used to schedule vacations to the minute and run around trying to see as much as possible. Now, I want to relax and get to know places. I think this can be done best by meeting locals and learning from them about their country and city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am mostly a rock and roller, but I appreciate jazz, classical, some country, and whatever Jimmy Buffet is. I prefer action films to rom-coms, but I also enjoy classics like Breakfast at Tiffany's. Our son is an excellent singer and we are very involved in his choir. His choir travels the world (Abu Dhabi, Carnegie Hall New York, South Africa, Bali, Italy, Japan, etc.). Some of my favorite music is sung by his choir.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have raced camels. My town in America has a history with camels. Prior to 911, there was a summer festival in my town which featured camel races. I loved to participate in the races. I was highly ranked when the festival shut down.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not sure what is supposed to go here. I brought some sourdough starter from California, which has been passed down to me from passed generations in my family. I can share this with hosts and teach them how to make sourdough pancakes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories and information about America (where I live) and information about places I've traveled where the hosts may want to go next. Photos of places I've been. Music videos I've made.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bermuda, Canada, Croatia, England, Germany, Mexico, Turkey, United Arab Emirates
