About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Love, laugh and be merry.

ABOUT ME

Born in the arctic of Alaska, raised in the countryside of Montana and matured in the city of Portland, OR. After working in a cubicle for 4 years I quit everything and took a 9 month trip through SE Asia and New Zealand. It was an eye-opening, truly life changing experience for me. Now I'm in search of a different life, working for myself, finding greater pleasure in simpler things.

To be fair though, I'm not all kittens and sunshine, far from it. I'm argumentative, sarcastic and have a crude sense of humor, I love music and beer and prefer the combination of both.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is measured by your experiences not your bank account.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I originally joined to crash someone's couch for a spontaneous South Carolina getaway in 2012, I have since just been playing host to folks as they're passing through the Florida panhandle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it's been fantastic; being a host forces me to meet people I would never otherwise interact with or know.

Interests

Music is like food for me;

LOVE : Music, playing drums, concerts, beer, sports, working out, health, primal/paleo food, cooking

  • concerts
  • dining
  • cooking
  • beer
  • working out
  • drinking
  • socializing
  • music
  • drums
  • hiking
  • sports

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC : Prog Rock / Metal, Trance Pop, Hard Rock, Nu Metal, Hip Hop, Country, Blues Rock, etc. If it's got a beat or some emotion to it than I like it. NOT a fan of much indie / soft rock.

Crime and Punishment is probably my favorite novel overall but right now I'm exploring CJ Box, Richard Dawkins and The Oatmeal comic strips. Talk about a strange mix!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hike the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. Yipee!

Argentina, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Ecuador, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Slovenia, Thailand
