About Me

Hey! I'm Anthony, a french guy passionate about travelling (I know it's very original to write that on couchsurfing, but I didn't know how to start!). Passionate about languages, I used to study Russian in my university, and my first trip in Russia revealed a lot of things I couldn't imagine. I always liked to move in my country and discover new places. I couldn't stay at the same place and was always moving from one friend's place to another, in order to meet people and have as much exchanges as possible. But it was still my culture, and what happened in Russia next was completely different: I had to learn about a new culture, a new way to live, and sometimes a new way to share and to talk. During 4 months learning about russian people, I finally understood that I learnt so much more about myself! This experience was the beginning of a new way to think my life, and I began to make plans to travel more. With a friend, we decided to finish our studies and to go for a road trip in all America. Five years later, we did it and cross almost all the continent from Montreal to Ushuaia in one year! Now I just cannot stop. The addiction have become too strong and I'll do everything to keep moving and learn more about other cultures and other languages! There's no way I wait to get old to do what I want to do!

A little bit of my philosophy :
-Life is a chance to dare.
-I like to provoke the unexpected.
-Language barrier doesn't exist. It's actually a bridge! (I'll say you why if we meet ^^)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why? Because this is just THE way to meet people from other cultures!

During our trip in America, we used to do couchsurfing with my two buddies (here's our cs page by the way: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2003899899), and we met so great people that I want to do it again and again.

On another side, I'm gonna have my own apartment soon (even if I don't know in which country for the moment), and I just can't wait to host people from all over the world! This way I will be able to travel staying at the same place! Isn't it amazing? Moreover, it will be for me the occasion to give back what people offered me during my trips when I was using couchsurfing or when I was hitchhiking. Life works this way for me: give and reveive, and I don't talk about money or material things.

Interests

I'm passionate about cooking, so I would be happy to cook something for you. Also, I like almost every kind of sport (ok I'm not interested about curling, I have to admit it...), so you can suggest me anything that makes me move! I'm also open to any kind of music, even if techno and rock are my favorites. I get bored by listening the same songs all the time, so it would be great if you could make me discover others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel 11 months in North and South America, road trip by van in US and Canada, cross Chile and Argentina by only hitchhiking, climb a 6000m volcano in Bolivia, camp in front of an erupting volcano in Guatemala, play with a bull in the arena in the south of France, cross Japan hitchhiking and camp alone on Mount Fuji, go to Las Vegas and remember it, live one month in the bear country (US and Canada) by only camping...and survive!
