I love visiting new places and often took road trips all over the southwest of the United States. 3 years ago, I finally branched out into other countries highlighted by a backpacking trip to Central America. That trip changed everything for me, all I wanted to do was travel after that experience.

I currently work in a hospital monitoring cardiac rhythms on a telemetry floor. I was headed towards a career in nursing, but became drawn towards the technology and software industry. I'm currently enrolled at ASU studying towards a new career in software engineering.

A little more than a year ago I met a beautiful girl from England, named Hayley. We connected pretty quickly and have been together since. Hayley is from Torquay, Devon in England. She sells vintage clothing and enjoys visiting thrift, secondhand and vintage stores wherever we go. We will be traveling Europe and Southeast Asia together from now into 2018.

Layla is Hayley's amazing daughter, she's 7, but sometimes I forget that. She's very bright for her age and loves to learn. She only travels with us sometimes, as she is back with her father at times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first backpacking experience opened my eyes to an entirely different way of traveling. I made friends everywhere, did things I didn't initially plan on, went places that weren't on my itinerary. It was amazing to meet locals and experience things off the typical tourist path.

Unfortunately I live in a small town, far from the big cities or tourists attractions and have never even received one request to stay at my house. It's too bad because I love playing tour guide.

Interests

At home, I still play hockey in a league once a week.

Last year I started photography as a hobby and it has really taken off for me. I mostly take landscapes and cityscapes as I'm often road tripping around and hiking when I'm not out traveling.

If I come across a fun bar with karaoke, I'll definitely get up there and sing! Haha

I rescued a puppy! Perhaps it's not that amazing, but he's a great dog. :)
