About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am a Thomas J. Watson Fellow (watsonfellowship.org) studying bicycle cultures on 4 continents.
ABOUT ME
I love to ride bicycles with both old and new friends. I enjoy the new smells and unique habits that come along with unfamiliar places. I enjoy Mountains and Buildings for different reasons, and I am prone to investigate the history of people and places in order to learn more about the world around me. I enjoy reading novels, but I am more content to read about what actually happened. Gabriel Garcia Marquez is my favorite author as I find his prose to be a lullaby for the spirit. Whats more, he is able to blend the ideas of this world with characters of his own making.
I live in a hostel which I helped to found 8 years ago, and I play in bands that have traveled throughout the United States and Europe.
I take people seriously, except when its time to be silly, and I try to honor the unique paths that we each walk in life.
I also like to feel cold breezes across my nose.
PHILOSOPHY
"To know that one life has breathed easier because of you--this is to have lived" Ralph Waldo Emerson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in a hostel in Memphis, TN. Though it costs money to stay here, I am happy to put people up in quaint quarters in the back part of my room.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have traveled in Europe and the United States playing music and never had to pay money to stay somewhere. It seems unnecessary to me. So, I want to be a part of an intentional effort to keep people safe and engaged in new places.
